[...] first store to announce these hours, Target is planning on opening its’ doors at Midnight and Toys R Us is opening at 10pm on Thanksgiving [...]
I live in Maine, and Toys R Us advertised they would open at 10 pm Thanksgiving last year. My friend and I got in line at 8:30pm, (I thought we would be too early, but there were people in line starting at 6pm!!!) Anyways, Shortly before they were suppose to open the doors, staff from the store came outside to tell everyone that it is a Maine Law that makes it so big stores (such as Toys R Us and Walmart) cannot open on 3 certain holidays, Thanksgiving being one of them. They apologized for the National Ad that ran saying they would open at 10 pm, but that they really would open until 12:01 AM friday. I think they called in Maine Blue Law or something like that. I googled it on my phone and sure enough there it was in black and white. Is it different this year for Maine, or is Maine still 12am Friday???
Unfortunately, we can’t speak for individual stores. The best thing to do is to call your local store to ask about their Black Friday hours a few days ahead of time. Good luck!
